This section explains the meaning of each item shown in the interface.

Summary

Streams: 6 Hot: 3 Cold: 3

There are three cold streams and three hot streams, for a total of six streams.

TGridMethod: grid_from_streams

The temperature grid is constructed by collecting the inlet and outlet temperatures of all streams and combining them into a single set of temperature nodes.

MVRMethod: mvr_piecewise

A piecewise linear formulation is used to model MVR streams.

Hot utility target: 127680 W, Cold utility target: 250140 W

The minimum hot-utility requirement of this heat exchanger network is 127680 W, and the minimum cold-utility requirement is 250140 W.

Pinch (K): 517.15

The pinch point of the heat exchanger network is located at 517.15 K.

Temperature Nodes (K)

This is the temperature grid, that is, the full list of temperature nodes.

Composite curve

The plot on the left is the composite curve, and the plot on the right is the grand composite curve. You can drag with the mouse to define a selection region and zoom in.

Problem Table

This is the problem table of the network. It records the heat contribution of each stream in each temperature interval. If you sum the columns for H2, H4, C1, and C3 across each row, you obtain the heat cascade.

Composite Curve Data Table

This table contains the numerical data returned by the backend for the composite-curve plot. Each row corresponds to one temperature node, and the columns record the hot composite, the cold composite, the feasible heat cascade, and the temperature value itself. In other words, this is the tabular form of the data used to draw the curves shown above. It is useful when you want to inspect the exact curve coordinates, verify the plotted results numerically, or export the curve data for further analysis.
